December First Sunday

Post by Chuck »

It's the time of year for a later start. How about brunch. We'll meet at the Stoney Creek Bar & Grill at the Stoney Creek Golf Course, just north of Nellysford on VA 151 in Nelson County.

Eat at 10:00 AM
Ride at ~11:00 AM

Sounds like fun, but I'll be camping with the Boy Scouts. Hope you enjoy the warm building, hot coffee, good breakfast, fellowship...and a nice ride!

Mike, Butch and I had a nice brunch. We grabbed a table for six expecting some of the Nelson County locals to show, but none did. Wow, US 250 over Rockfish Gap was well salted. Looked a little like Bonneville!

How about another upscale brunch at The Lafayette in Stanardsville for January?

I had planned on joining in, since I am one of those Nelson county locals, but the weather was worse than expected. I don't have any heated gear yet. Hope to see you in January. I think I will try riding this weekend, if the weather cooperates.

Sunday, the 4th, in Stanardsville? That sounds good to me.

Hey, someone mentioned doing a "Boxing Day" ride this year... maybe brunch at La Cocina Del Sol in Crozet on Friday, 26 December. Y'all still up for that? If so, I can call them to see what time they open. Can't find their web site, but I did find an address and phone number:

1200 Crozet Avenue
Crozet, VA 22932
(434) 823-5469

Let me know if there's any interest and I'll set things up. Will post details in a new thread.

Butch mentioned posting something for lunch on Boxing Day. Cocina del Sol in Crozet sounds good to me.

Lunch works. I just got off the phone with La Cocina Del Sol and they confirmed that they are indeed open for lunch on Friday, the 26th. Let's get a general head count and I'll call back to let them know how large of a group to expect...

(Will post more details in a new thread.)
