As usual, I'm late to the game, just heard about the motorcycles that crashed head-on
with each other on Rte 250 in West Augusta.

Happened June 29.
Very sad, so very sad.
Just can't imagine how they both managed to be so out of position.
Says speed wasn't a factor and, at least from the video, the curve isn't that tight.
So why were both of them right on/over the yellow line on a curve.
Woman in the building I work in rides and told me about it today. Said the one who
did not cross the yellow line was the last one in a group of riders. Just adds
to the mystery for me.
Taken a MSF/ERIC course lately?

It's the only real curve in that whole section of road. If I picture it properly, Neve cut the left-hand corner and hit the oncoming bike. It's unexpectedly tight, but not THAT tight, so if they say speed wasn't a factor then Neve was just being stupidly lazy by using both lanes. You can do that corner at 70+ and stay in one lane if you're reading the road well and riding a bike with reasonable cornering clearance. If he had to cut the corner to avoid running off the road, then speed absolutely was a factor.
